CHANGE IS ON IT'S WAY

 Good morning beautiful souls~

The one thing we are all seeking so desperately is change but here's the thing.  Change can only happen if you commit to it.  That's right.  You can't just sit around hoping and praying.  You need
to be an active participant otherwise change is diluted to hope and nothing more.

Today's quote is, "Commit to change and things will change."  I'll be the first to admit that change does not come easy whether you are trying to change your eating and exercise habits or your mind set from nothing works out for me to every thing works out for me.

The wonderful thing about deciding to make changes in your life is that it doesn't have to be immediate. When striving for results, it is best to approach with caution and take it slow.  If losing weight is your goal, start with one meal at a time.  

If your outlook to life is more negative than positive, try saying one positive thing in the morning to start your day.  There is no easy road on this journey.  Its important to understand that struggle is part of life but that it does not have to be a permanent way of being.  

Commit to making a change and things will absolutely change.

SELF AWARE~

Good morning everyone! How easy is it to notice flaws, mistakes and mishaps in others but rarely in ourselves.  

Have you ever heard the phrase, "look who's calling the kettle black?" or "Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."  Different expressions, same meaning.

What we see in someone else is often ignored by ourselves. Today's quote is, "Ignorance can be observed in others but rarely in oneself."  Ignorance is not a desirable trait yet easily observed all around us.  A wonderful way to counteract ignorance is to travel and see the world.  

Ignorance comes from not knowing, not understanding and misunderstanding.  If you can't travel and see the world you certainly can try things you've never eaten before or go to a neighborhood unlike your own.

Be kind to what you perceive as ignorance and be open to learning new things and other ways of living that are unlike your own.  Awareness brings understanding and understanding is key to coexistence.

FIND YOUR JOY

Good morning everyone.  Aren't you tired of everyone telling you to live the life of your dreams?  We see that statement all over social media leaving us to think we're missing out on life.  Often times the essential ingredient that's missing is knowing what the life of your dreams looks like.  It is knowing what you would want to do if you could do anything.  It is knowing where you would like to be instead of an office, a classroom or a million other places.  The key is knowing what would make you happy.

Today's quote is, "Pinpoint your passion then live your dreams."  It is not until you find your true passion and calling that you can live the life you truly desire.  That takes work.  Sitting behind a desk and staring at a computer all day may be less than fulfilling but in those free moments, stop scrolling on your phone and keep your credit card in your wallet.  

Imagine what your life would look like if you could create what is perfect for you.  Don't think about anyone else.  Don't belittle your dreams and think they are crazy or that you are crazy for even having them.  Instead, think of the joy that will come once you have found your passion and put it into practice!

LISTEN - NOVEMBER

Good morning, everyone.  When it comes to asking for help, we all become like toddlers.  "I'll do it myself!" said every two year old.  Thing is we're not two years old and sometimes we need help.  There is no shame in asking for assistance but when it comes to your own life, those answers usually lie within.

Today's quote is, "Ask for help but rely on yourself - your instincts will help you make the right choice."  No one knows you like you know yourself.  There may be some people you can count on to help you make important decisions in your life but the feeling that comes from your gut cannot be matched.

Our solar plexus is the center of strength, courage and inner knowing.  When that part of our body is misaligned, we feel it.  We might feel anxious, stressed, nervous or worried and those are the signs that tell us we are making an incorrect decision.  When we feel at peace.  When we are calm.  When we are relaxed in that part of the body, we know that we have made the perfect resolve.  

Let the waiter tell you the best dish of the house.  Let the weatherman tell you how to dress for the day.  Let your instincts help you make the right choice.

STOP TRYING SO HARD

Good morning everyone.  How many times in your life have you wanted something so badly you were willing to make all kinds of concessions?   How many times were you willing to bend in all kinds of crazy positions but no matter how oddly shaped you became, the situation was still not in your favor.

That's because when something is not meant to be, it simply won't happen.  When something is not meant to work out, it won't, yet we try and try and try some more.

Today's quote, is, "I'm not done - I'm just done trying so hard."  That's not a bad thing.  Not trying so hard does not mean you have given up.  What it means is that you have released the need to control what you cannot control.  It means that you are allowing things to happen the way they are meant to. 

Is that easy?  NOT AT ALL and the reason is, we like control.  We like to know that when we work hard our hard work will pay off but that is not always the case.  I can't stress this enough.  If something is meant to be it will be and if it's not it won't.  

You don't have to be spiritual to understand that concept.  When you know you have done everything in your power to get that new job, to fix that friendship, to nurture that relationship, (etc. etc.), and still nothing changes, don't be done trying but know when to release, let go and allow things to take their natural course because in the end, they always do.

MOVE OVER

Good morning, everyone.  When change is on its way we can feel it.  The air is different and our senses are stronger.  There is an indescribable aura around us that lets us know something wonderful is about to happen but there is one thing we need to do.  We need to move over!

Today's quote is, "Step aside - make room for what is to come."  In other words, get out of your own way.  Move over and let what is meant for you have ample space to come on in.  Too many times we are the ones blocking the entrance.

We sabotage ourselves by using force in situations that don't serve us.  Situations that will never work out in the long run.  It's time to stop.  It's time to give up control because let's face it, control is illusory.

We know that divine timing will welcome with open arms what is meant for us.  Stop tripping over your own feet.  Step aside, and make room for what is to come!

A LIGHT UNTO YOURSELF

Good morning everyone. 

It's happening.  One by one they are falling like dominoes in a row.  Without naming names, you know exactly who I mean.  The ones we all put on a giant pedestal while we were busy searching for answers.  While it is fine to look to others for help and inspiration, I cannot express how important it is to listen to the most powerful voice there is.  Yours.  Your voice, your intuition and that upset stomach that is screaming at you to trust yourself.

Today's quote is, "Be your own savior, your own temple, your own light."  Why is it that we immediately give our full trust to a stranger but hesitate when it comes to trusting ourselves.  In the words of a very knowledgeable Kabbalistic Rabbi, do not confuse charisma with consciousness.  

Do not get swept up into someone's world because they have a bigger bank account giving them the ability to market themselves far and wide and flourish only in a way that social media has allowed.  

Are some of these people helpful?  Absolutely.  It is not a bad thing to be helped by a stranger on social media.  I will admit, I have listened to a few myself but I refuse to get enveloped in the words and world of someone who claims to have all the answers and won't admit when they don't.

There are so many wise, enlightened, insightful, competent and well informed people on the internet.  The only difference is their bank account and marketing skills.  Listen to many voices.  Listen to what everyone has to say regardless of their fame and fortune but in the end, listen to yourself because you are truly your own savior, your own temple and your own light.

FOLLOW YOUR HEART

Good morning, everyone.  Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on becoming an adult.  The greatest thing about adulthood is that you can finally make your own decisions.  I hear it from my 26 year old all the time.  If I try to make even the slightest suggestion about anything, he quickly reminds me that he can make his own decisions because...."I'm an adult."

Wow!  I wish I had his backbone when I was his age.  Instead, I chose to remain under that metaphorical thumb paralyzed with the inability to make decisions.  Every journey is personal.  Some take longer than others to find what it is they are looking for, but I finally realized how to get to the yellow brick road.

Today's quote is, "The path to happiness is following your heart not what you were told."  We have all been taught to look to our elders for wisdom and advice but no one except us is walking in our shoes.  There is a saying that goes, "take what you need and leave the rest," and I believe that even if you are receiving advice from a most trusted source.

Listen to your elders but listen first to your heart.  That is what will lead you to your true path of happiness.

SILENCE AND DISTANCE

The world is such an interesting place with so many countries, cultures and languages.  I always envied people who are multilingual but there is a language spoken by all no matter where they are from.  That language is silence.  Yes.  Silence is indeed a language.

Today's quote is, "Silence and distance are a language all their own."  Communication does not begin and end with the spoken word.  We have the ability to express every emotion with the blink of an eye, an upturned lip or a nod of the head.  We also have the ability to get our point across with complete silence.  No words, no expressions, just nothing.

I say silence and distance but I feel they are synonymous.  When you choose to be silent, you have chosen distance.  You have chosen to remove yourself from altercation, confrontation and conversation.  You have chosen to speak loudly with your silence.

WRAPPED IN A FACADE

 Good morning everyone~

Are you a good judge of character?  I like to think I am but there are always those who are masters of disguise, able to fool us really well.  There are people who are the complete opposite of what they present and only when we are fully enmeshed are we able to see them for what they really are.

Today's quote is, "The biggest mistake you can make is to fall for a façade."  Be kind to yourself!  It's not your fault (or mine).  We have more in common than not.  We all want to be liked, loved, valued and respected but if we don't like, love, value or respect ourselves we play the game of pretend.  We pretend to be everything we aren't so that we are loved and valued.

Playing pretend is great if you're an actor on a stage but not if the stage is real life.  When that façade begins to crumble and fall apart, as it inevitably will, so will that friendship or partnership because maintaining that false identity becomes a job. 

You can never go wrong being your authentic self.  The ones who are meant to be in your life will. Don't fall for a fraud and don't be one either.  Love yourself and others will follow!

DON'T RESIST~

Good morning everyone!  When we want something, I mean when we really want something we work at it.  We do what we have been told which is to work hard to see results.  I'm here to turn this idea on its head and to tell you to forget what you've been told.

I've spoken of Divine Timing more times than I can count and I can tell you that no matter how hard you work, no matter what you do, things will not happen JUST because you work hard and fast.  This is not to say to not contribute to your goals but hard work will not always get you there.  Sometimes you need to take a step back.

Today's quote is, "Flow with ease - release resistance- you will land where you are meant to."  Crazy right?  How do we flow with ease when what we want consumes us and is all we think about?  I'll give you this.  It's not easy but it can be done and must be done.

I want you to take a moment and think back on your life.  What was it that you worked so hard for and what was it that fell in your lap.  You probably don't know this, but just thinking and visualizing your dreams is also work. 

To see results, we must do the work but to your repertoire add visualization, imagination and releasing resistance and I promise you, you will always land exactly where you are meant to be.

PUTTING IN THE TIME

Good morning, everyone.  Put in the work and you will reap the rewards.  Hard work gets you where you want to be.  Don't give up, keep going.  Heard this before?  Annoying isn't it.  We all know what we need to do to get where we want to be.  With effort, we can accomplish anything but you know what, sometimes we just can't get going.

Today's quote is, "Effort takes effort."  I'm the one who comes up with these quotes yet there are times I sit and stare at the computer wondering just how to start. 

It takes strength and inspiration to get motivated.  Wouldn't it be wonderful to jump out of bed every day knowing that today's the day it all gets done.  If that is a rarity in your life know that you are not alone.

Effort takes effort.  Be kind to yourself.  If you feel like what you really need is a walk in the woods then take that walk in the woods.  That might just be the motivation you need!

NO COMPETITION

Good morning, everyone.  Happy Monday.  I am probably the least competitive person out there.  It's just not my thing and never was.  When on the rare occasions I watch a sporting event, I always feel bad for the loser but in sports there is only one winner despite the fact that every kid gets a trophy.  That's another topic altogether!

There are those who thrive on competition and comparison.  There is and never has been equality at the starting gate, so the two c's above are meaningless.

Today's quote is, "I cannot compete with anyone else let alone myself."  If you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, went to all the "right" schools, knew all the "right" people, you started off very differently than the one with the single parent working two jobs to make ends meet.  

Give yourself credit for where you are now.  You are more knowledgeable, more seasoned and more savvy.  There is no comparison to who you were vs. who you are so why compete with an old version of yourself. 

Stay on track but leave the racing to the horses!

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Good morning, everyone~ When talking about a particular topic one should be well versed in the subject matter.  One should also be willing to learn from others because there is always more to know.  The reason I don't care for the term expert is because it implies that the expert knows absolutely everything regarding said topic and learning simply ceases to continue.   

Learning is fun.  It challenges us and teaches us that there is always more.  The danger of being an expert is that it puts one in a category above the rest.  Today's quote is, "Possessing knowledge makes you knowledgeable - not superior."  The know it all.  They're exhausting.  They don't converse.  They lecture and are more than happy to do so.  

Whatever you have learned about any topic, know that there is always more.  Knowledge really is power and the more you know, the more powerful and knowledgeable you will be.

SPEAKING WITHOUT WORDS

Good morning, everyone.  I was very lucky to be introduced to international travel at a very young age for which I am grateful.  Traveling is a wonderful way to see the world.  It is a wonderful way to experience different foods and to see different sights.  There is nothing to deter me from traveling to places I have never been.  Not even the fact that English is the only language I know.

Today's quote is, "Words aren't the only way a language is spoken."  Language can be spoken in multiple ways.  We've all heard of body language.  That's the same everywhere.  Our eyes tell a story, and our expressions speak volumes.

TURN UP THE VOLUME WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR INTUITION

Good morning, everyone.  It may be super quiet where you are at this very moment but you know what you can always hear no matter how quiet it may be?  Your intuition.  That's right.  That is something that remains loud and clear at all times. Whether you choose to listen is something else altogether.

Today's quote is, "When your intuition speaks raise the volume."  I don't know about you, but I have deep conversations with myself all the time.  Talking things through with yourself or someone else helps in making crucial decisions but sometimes those conversations are completely unnecessary because your intuition is already doing the talking.

We instinctively know when something feels right or something is off yet all too often we ignore those feelings because we don't trust ourselves.

How many times have you said to yourself, "I knew I shouldn't or should've..."  That's because you knew all along what you should or should not have done.  You chose to turn off the volume of your intuition even though it was already on full blast.  Turn up the volume on your intuition.  It is the one voice that will never steer you wrong.

ASSUMPTIONS MADE AND GIVEN

Good morning, everyone.  Ever notice how everyone is an expert these days on just about everything?  Just today I watched a tik tok video where a Reiki teacher was telling everyone that taking Reiki 1 and 2 together is a mistake.  I co-teach a very thorough Reiki 1 and 2 class over a two-day period.  We've been doing this for quite some time and are certain this is the way to go.  Just my opinion as the Reiki teacher who disagrees has her opinion. 

Why not leave something like this up to the potential student?  Offering an opinion when asked is the proper time to share rather than on a public forum because after all, it is just an opinion.

Today's quote is, "We are assumption makers and givers."  Too often that is exactly what we are.  We make assumptions without having the facts and give our opinions when no one asked.  Are you allowed an opinion?  Of course, but when you offer what you think as an absolute truth, it can be confusing to someone who is simply looking for different points of view.  Make sure to preface your opinion with, "I think," or "my feeling is," or something to that effect. 

Assume nothing until you know the facts.  Give advice and opinions when asked.  Even experts should be open to learning and so should we.

BUTT OUT

 Good morning, friends.  You'd have to be asleep not to notice the divisiveness in our world these days.  There are arguments about social issues on a daily basis and everyone wants to be heard and everyone wants to be right without acknowledging another point of view.

I have a suggestion which also happens to be my quote of the day, "Stay out of the war that will never be won."  Doesn't that make more sense?  Having been there I can tell you without a doubt that it is the only way to go.

If you are a Sicilian pizza lover, odds are you're not going to convince a regular pizza lover that yours is better. If someone believes the world is flat you are not going to change their minds even though photos of the round earth were taken by astronauts who some believe were actors.  Oh yea, that's real.  

Trying to force your beliefs on anyone never works.  Listen with a kind heart and let it go.  Convincing someone to change their minds is a difficult task that could end up being a war that will never be won by anyone.

FOLLOW YOUR HEART

 Good morning, friends.  The road to our path, the one we prefer to be on is sometimes longer than we would like.  Why is that?  Because we don't listen to our intuition and follow that inner voice.  We choose instead to adhere to the program set before us by parents, teachers and adults who think they know best and because we were young and lacked experience in the world, we too adhered to their thoughts.

Low and behold, we grew up and began to form our own thoughts.  We realized that although these adults may have had our best interest at heart, the path they thought we should take didn't resonate with us.

Today's quote is, "The path to happiness - following your heart - not what you were told."  Clearly this is nothing new or earth shattering.  We know this already but how many of us actually do it?  We were too busy listening to other voices instead of our own and found ourselves in situations too comfortable to get out of.  

Is comfortable and miserable where we want to be?  Sounds like an oxymoron to me.  At some point in our lives, we come to realize what is really matters to us.  The things that were once so important begin to take a back seat when we follow our true path.  We begin to realize that the path to happiness is following your heart, not what you were told.

TRY TRY AGAIN

Good morning, everyone.  Failure is something I have a hard time with.  I don't even like the word, yet it exists.  I've often said that failure is when you haven't learned a lesson, whatever that lesson might be.  Failure in itself is looked at in such a negative light but it can be positive.

Today's quote is, "Failure is the motivation to try again and succeed."  Don't let failure deter you.  Let it push you to try as many times as needed until you get it right, whatever that it might be.  We give up out of sheer frustration because failure sucks.  No one, NO ONE wants to fail at anything.

Will I go down the list of famous people who failed numerous times but kept going?  No cause I know you don't care and neither do I.  This isn't about history.  This is about YOU!  So you fail and mess up.  OK then.  Have a good cry and  when your ready, do as Frank crooned, "Take a deep breath, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again!"
