WHO CARES

Good morning, everyone and happy Thursday.  The COVID 19 Pandemic has been an experience like no other.  There have been comparisons made regarding other difficult times in history, mainly WWll.  While most of us were not around during that dreadful time and most of what we know came from books and stories our parents told us.  After WWll, America was booming with phenomenal economic growth.  Corporations grew and people were happy to make money and participate in the American dream.

After experiencing a lock down, many of us who were unsatisfied with our jobs and work situations left without looking back, discontent with the so called, American Dream.  There are many reasons why this happened, but a big reason is the lack of care from employers.  Gone were the days when people cared about each other.

Today's quote is, "When indifference is all we can show - all we can feel - our humanity is lost."  What kind of society did we turn into?  When and why did this happen?  It began long before the pandemic, but it took a pandemic to shine a light on the very ugly part of the work force.  How can human beings be so unkind and uncaring to one another?  I saw it happen in the very workplace where I need to show up five days a week.

It makes me happy knowing that my time there is almost up and that I can place my focus on the work that I love.  Supporting my fellow man with true care, true kindness and true love.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone!~Love, Amy

YOU ARE GREAT

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday.  Self help books and ones that try to inspire you have been around for decades and thanks to the internet you can google just about anything including how to be the best version of yourself not excluding how to be the best mom, the best wife, the best husband, the best parent, the best of absolutely anything you can think of.  Do we all wake up wanting to be the best at something or are we content to just be ourselves?  Is it ok to make a meal that wouldn't win a Michelin star?  Can you yell at your kids and still love them and have them love you back?   The answer is a definite YES!

Today's quote is, "You don't have to do anything great - just being here is great - thank you for your presence."  We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to do everything right but right according to who?  We put even more pressure on ourselves to be the best but in our quest to be the best at whatever, how often to we ask ourselves at what cost and honestly why?

You are enough.  That's right.  You are enough. You are the best.  You are great.  You know why?  Because you showed up to that soccer game in the pouring rain.  You made dinner even though you were exhausted.  You listened to your spouse no matter how annoyed you may have been.  You are great as you are.  Always remember that.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

NOW I GET IT

Good morning everyone.  Happy Thursday.  There's nothing quite like a light bulb moment.  When that switch goes on and you just get it, whatever the "it" may be.  Understanding something new takes time but we are so impatient with ourselves.  Be kinder to yourself.

Today's quote is, "Change what's wrong with me to now I understand."  Why do we immediately go to the negative place of thinking?  Is it a patterned response, something we do to ourselves or a combination of both.

Whatever it is that you are trying to accomplish in your life or just in your day may take more time and understanding on your part.  There is nothing wrong with you.  Distractions are all around us and sometimes when we think we are paying attention, our mind is only halfway there.

I will repeat once again, there is nothing wrong with you, take time and eventually understanding comes your way.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

THE CHOSEN OUTCOME

Good morning everyone.  Happy Tuesday.  Predictability is comfortable.  Its when we do things and we know exactly what will happen.  It is when we are consciously aware of our actions.  Sometimes we do things and say to ourselves, "what was I thinking" and "I don't know why I did that."  But you know what?  Your subconscious mind knows exactly what it is doing.

Today's quote "There are times we choose the outcome even if we think we didn't."  I'm reminded of the lumpy blue sweater Andi fished out of that tragic Casual Corner clearance bin.  While she may have thought she created her own style, Miranda Priestly reminded her that what she wore was chosen for her.

When you are in the midst of doing something that will not have a good outcome, it is indeed your subconscious mind pushing you towards it.  Speaking from experience, I can say that my subconscious mind did just that.  Was the outcome for me horrible?

It was at first but then it turned out to be a blessing.  I believe that is why our subconscious is sometimes more aware that our conscious selves.  There is an outcome to every situation and whether we consciously or unconsciously choose it, we did indeed choose it ourselves!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

GIFTS IN DISGUISE

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  I love when I get a beautifully wrapped gift box.  I hold it in my hands and look at every angle.  Sometimes just the wrapping alone feels like a gift even if I know something even more beautiful is inside.

Not all gifts come in beautifully wrapped boxes.  Some come in packages of devastation, dripping with the water of our tears but in our upset, we are too dumbfounded to know we have received a gift.

Today's quote is, "What you think is the worst possible thing to happen is sometimes disguised as the best gift you can receive."  I know because I've been there and I proudly say, more than once.  We all need a reset button but we instead we find excuses, lack the desire or lack the motivation, then BAM!

The Universe does it for us!  The Universe gives us a gift disguised as something awful when the reality is, with time, we see this most upsetting scenario as a gift.  It's ok to lack motivation.  Its ok to be complacent.  It's also ok to be feel as though you've been side swiped but know that in times when you feel as though your life is a complete wreck, you will be cushioned by the silver lining that's waiting for you.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

REACH FOR THE SKY

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday.  Feeling good versus feeling bad.  Is there a question as to which one we prefer?  That in itself is a silly question.  Of course we want to feel good.  Who likes waking up exhausted wishing for one more hour of sleep?  I envy my old self.  The one that used to jump out of bed as soon as she opened her eyes.

I know she'll be back and I look forward to her return.  There's nothing like the feeling you get when you are on top of your game, doing what you are meant to and doing what you love!  When that happens the energy around you is contagious making everyone rejoice in that feeling with you.

Today's quote is, "It is possible to lift yourself up and lift up another along the way."  What's more fun?  Racing to the front of the line or walking hand in hand together?  This is something that is not situational but is a personal preference.

When we feel better our auras sparkle and shine spreading out to those around us.  You can still get to the front of the line but bring others with you.  If life is a competition, see how many souls you can lift on your journey.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy
