POWER TO THE PEOPLE - friday

Good morning everyone.  I really and truly hope you all have a fabulous day and a wonderful weekend and if you don't, then it is on you.  Do you know why?  Because you are the one in charge.

Today's quote is, "We are the ones who have all the power."  You can choose not to believe it but it's true.  We have so much power but too often we let fear get in the way.  Change is hard and takes a lot of work.  Complacency is so easy but is also the easy way out.

I am a Reiki practitioner as you all know.  Every session I have is s powerful experience for both the client and myself.   The moment I lay hands on someone, the energy flows and the healing takes place.  That's pretty powerful stuff but at times it scared me.

How could I be scared of my own practice?  I am a healer.  Healing is what I do.  It wasn't until it was brought to my attention that I acknowledged that fear.  Why did I have that fear?  I did a lot of soul searching and realized why.

It takes just as much power to realize you are good at something as it does to bash yourself.  Think about that for a moment.  Bashing ourselves comes easily but what about praising yourself?  For most of us that is very hard to do.

We think we are being conceited or boastful.  Not at all.  It's funny how everyone wants to be successful at their pursuits yet somehow fears that success.  Success is fantastic and you have the power to be successful at whatever it is you want to do.  Once you release that fear that power deep within you will be free to rise up.

Be in charge.  Be amazing and most of all be powerful because it is in your lap.

EVERY DAY SHOULD BE YOUR FAVORITE

Good morning everyone.  Do you have a day of the week you like better than another one?  Monday wouldn't make that list but Saturday would be right up there.  Tuesday is OK because you made it through Monday.  Thursday is kind of nice because Friday is moments away!  You get my point.

Today's quote is, "You know which day is my favorite - the one where I open my eyes and see the sun."  While that quote might sound corny to  you, I really mean that.  Every day has value but it is up to you to see the value and also to make it valuable.

How magnificent is it when the sun shines brightly in the sky?  How great do you feel when the sun shines on you?  A beautiful day makes you feel invincible as if you can accomplish anything.  That is why every day is my favorite.  Not to say there are no challenging days.  We all have things we need to do and to take care of.  We all have those days where we don't even pay attention to the sky because we are so busy running around.

How lucky are we that every day we get to have another one.  Another day, another chance.  Today's quote is about being appreciative.  Appreciate your surroundings and the beauty that is everywhere because it is.  We are all busy but don't be too busy to go outside and enjoy that beauty.  Stand still for a moment and let the sun bathe you in warmth.  Try it for one day.  I'm sure you'll be back.

REMOVE THE LABEL AND SEE WHAT'S THERE

Good morning readers.  We are smack in the middle of the work week.  We know that because there are five days in a week so naturally Wednesday being where it is falls in the middle.  We have made a mental note of it.

When we shop for new clothes each garment has a label that tells us the size and price.  It is important for items in a store to be labeled so we are aware of its usefulness and how much we will need to spend if it is something we want.  As far as I am concerned inanimate  objects are the only things that need labels.

How many of us can honestly say we never make judgments at first glance.  If you are honest and that goes for me as well, I can say that I too am guilty.  Today's quote is, "What did you see before you attached a label."

We judge all the time whether we realize it or not.  Not every judgement is big either.  You might look at someone's shoes and decide they are not attractive and then your eyes begin to scan upwards where you can't help but notice the rest of the outfit that you may also find fault with.  The scanning then continues and before you know it, you have ripped apart this person just because you didn't like their shoes.

We all have those crazy mornings when nothing seems to go our way.  We are running late and put on the first thing we grab out of the closet only to notice a big stain on our pants when we get to work.  Embarrassing yes but it happens.  Does that mean you are a slob and should be labeled as such?  Of course not.

Think of how innocently we do that and then watch the snowball effect.  Making unfair assumptions is a loss for us.  We may never get to know the person with the stain on their pants because we already decided we have nothing in common.  We may never speak to the person with the accent, the one we mentally labeled, "speaks funny," because we have to work to hard to communicate.

Leave labels on clothes.  Never attach a label to a person you just met.  You never know what they have to offer and how your life can be enhanced.  And by the way, I've definitely gone to work with a stain on my pants.

BAKE A CAKE IF IT BRINGS YOU JOY

Good morning everyone.  As we drive along that road to success in whatever it is we do that will in our eyes deem ourselves successful, our ultimate goal is to be happy.   I believe with all my heart that that is the common goal for everyone.  When our company does well we are happy.  When our clients are pleased with our services we are happy.

If you are an artist and someone admires your work your pride will show on your face.  The salmon burgers I cooked the other day were so delicious I had to tell the fishmonger.  He was visibly pleased when I told him I would be back for more.  It doesn't matter what it is you do, what matters is that you are happy doing it.

Today's quote is, "What makes you truly happy - is it money, time, freedom - live life on  your terms - do what brings you joy."  When you choose your own path is when you will find true meaning and happiness.  When you are told what to do you will never be truly happy or at peace.  Parents often make the mistake of telling their children what will make them happy.

As parents sometimes we know but sometimes we don't.  What we can do is steer our children in the right direction just as we had been but many times our parents are unfamiliar with the road that will lead us to our destination.  Whatever makes you happy is what you should strive for.

Don't worry about money, time or freedom.  When you are doing what you love and living your life on your own terms and the way you want to, everything will fall into place.

SHOWER YOURSELF WITH LOVE

Good morning all.  Happy Monday and happy week. What do you do when you are feeling down?  Do you accept that feeling or do you do something to perk yourself up and by that I don't mean eating a box of chocolate chip cookies.

Maybe you've been reprimanded by someone.  It's awful when people try and make us feel worthless.  Notice I said try because in order for someone to succeed they need your permission.  However; if it happens more than once it is hard not to blame ourselves as if we are worthless and undeserving.

We can easily begin to find fault with everything about ourselves and to doubt the way we handle our lives.  We are far better than that and deserve to know how great we are.  If no one is going to tell us then we need to do it ourselves.  Today's quote is,"Don't wait for anyone to shower you with love and admiration - do it yourself."  I

If you know you didn't deserve that reprimand or put down, don't slump your shoulders.  Stand up tall.  Most likely it is not your problem but someone who needs to feel more powerful.  If you are wearing a new outfit but no one notices, so what!  If you feel great and look great then that is all that matters.   Take a moment to look in the mirror and tell yourself how fabulous you look.

There is nothing and I mean nothing wrong with admiring yourself or loving yourself.  It is not conceited or narcissistic.  If we don't love ourselves and feel proud for all that we have accomplished or are in the process of, why would anyone else admire our efforts.

When you come across to the world proud of who you are, it shows.  Take a shower everyday and don't forget to throw the love in!

WE ARE ALL ACCOUNTABLE FOR OUR LIVES

Good morning everyone.  Another Friday!  Yay.  Enjoy the day however you spend it.  There is a weekend at the end of this tunnel.  How was your week?  Have you begun to make any changes or are you too busy complaining about it?

You would be amazed at how much time complaining takes.  It is like when you were little and your mom would tell you to stop complaining and do something!  If your habit is to whine and complain, it is not going to change because you are older.  For some of us the term older and wiser does not apply.

There are events in our lives which cannot be helped for a number of reasons but what about the events in our lives or situations leading up to these events that leave us floundering in wonder as if to say, "what just happened?" The classic, "Why did this happen to me?"  Classic self-pity!

We as human beings are accountable for so much more than we think.  Blaming outside sources, events or everyone else is too easy.  What is our part?  Today's quote is, "Come back to the present moment - the one of accountability."  We are the ones who need to be held accountable for what takes place in our lives every single day.

We get to decide how we are going to feel every time be get out of our beds.  We need to be held accountable for our viewpoints, our mood and our approach to our every day existence.  Yes you may be stuck in a job you hate but it is up to you to find something else that you enjoy.

There are plenty of hours in a day.  Twenty-four to be exact.  Even if you find one hour to do something that brings you joy, that hour will be incredibly meaningful.  Why choose the sinister and negative?  If you don't like the rain, think of the earth quenching her thirst.  If you are in a bad mood, count the many ways in which you have been blessed.

Lastly think about how lucky you are to be a person gifted with endless possibilities to improve yourself and your life.  Be accountable for that too!

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE A SMALL CHANGE

Good morning everyone.  Are you ever bored by the clothing that you wear, the set up of the furniture in your house?  Has your workout routine become stale?  Dinner yet another chore when trying to come up with something interesting to prepare?  Keep reading.  I promise this is not a commercial.

I make chicken all the time and I mean ALL THE TIME!  Even though there are a gazillion ways to make chicken in the end it's still chicken BUT I have found that by using this incredible rub, my grilled chicken breasts have become a huge hit!  It is still chicken but with an amazing new and different flavor.

All I did was add different spices yet that one small change made a huge difference.  I had my house feng shuied years ago.  The purpose was to place furniture and objects in a way that is not only pleasing to the eye but to give a feeling of comfort and security when you enter a room.

Objects were moved, thrown out and added.  Not every change was significant yet what was discarded, moved or added made a huge difference.  Today's quote is, "Significant changes need not be brash but sometimes incredibly subtle."

I used my dinner recipe and my feng shui story as an example of how a small change can have a big impact.  Just think about how you feel after receiving a compliment.  It could change not just your mood but your entire day and that compliment could be something as small as, "nice shirt."

We all walk away beaming when someone says something nice to us because it feels good.  If you are not happy with an aspect of your life then change it but know that it doesn't have to be grand.  Start small, for sometimes those small changes are the ones that truly make the most difference in our lives!

CAN'T CHANGE THE SITUATION - CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE

Good morning all.  Do you ever find yourself in situations that are unpleasant and go with that unpleasant feeling all day or at least while you are there.  What can you do about that?  More than your think.

Today's quote is, "If a situation can't be changed change the situation."  Not every situation can be changed.  Sometimes you have to be where you don't want to but you can change your viewpoint and your perspective.  Did you ever have that obligatory dinner you had to go to with little or no interest in anyone who might be there?

We have all been there but instead of looking forward to it as if you are getting a tooth pulled, find something positive about where you are or simply look at it in a different way.  Maybe that person you didn't want to speak to is not as bad as you think and just needs a second chance.

I'm all about second chances.  First impressions are lasting but what you see could have been impacted by something else.  Be open minded.  Look at that situation in a new way and leave behind that first impression.  We all have bad days.  Who wants to be judged by a bad day.  I don't!  That's for sure.

My quote is really not about changing a situation as much as it is about changing your view point on it.  Remember, everything looks better in the sunlight!

LOVE AND SUPPORT=THE RETURNS OF FRIENDSHIP

Good morning all.  Hope you had a nice start to the week.  It's always that first day that's hard and hopefully the rest of it goes as smooth as a well oiled machine.  You know what else is nice when it goes smoothly?  Relationships and not just with a spouse or significant other but with your friends.

Today's quote is, "Love and support should be the only profit from friendship."  Many of us rely on friends in a way that is completely different from the way we rely on a spouse.  There are times when we feel the need to confide in someone of the same gender. The understanding is there and we can relate better to one another because we have been through a similar or perhaps identical situation.

Friends should be there for mutual support and love but there are those who seek friends for the sole purpose of benefiting themselves.  That is not friendship.  Can friends help you?  Of course they can but that is very different than befriending someone for what they can do for you.

Many years ago, I befriended a woman who described me to others as "her new best friend."  That right there should have been my hint.  It was a whirlwind friendship.  We spent a lot of time together and were the best of friends in a rather short period of times then all of a sudden she was too busy to see me.

I couldn't figure out what I did wrong.  Why weren't my phone calls being returned?  (pre-texting!)  When she did return my phone calls, why was she always busy?  Honestly I had no idea what happened.  We were the best of friends and then I didn't exist.  I found out that I wasn't the first.  This was a pattern for this person.

Befriend someone, have fun, get what you need and then be on  your way.  It turned out that all this person was interested in was the school I worked in at the time and the right introductions.  Once she achieved what she wanted she had no use for me.

I was hurt because I couldn't believe that someone could be so cold.  I was hurt because I couldn't fathom doing that to someone.  I realized not everyone has pure intentions.  Do you know anyone like that?  If you don't, fantastic!  If you do, be careful.  Profit is not what you receive from your friends.  Mutual support and mutual care is what friendship is all about!

BE WHERE YOU ARE

Good morning everyone!  It's Monday.  Don't say ugg.  Just be there.  Today's quote is, "Wherever you are be in that place - not in your head."  Your head does all kinds of things.  It tells you equally what's great and what sucks but if you are just THERE it may be neither one of those.

There is a possibility that it could be better than you think or worse than you can imagine.  I know you don't want to go to the worse place but don't anticipate that that's what it will be.  Anticipation plays such a large part in our lives.  We imagine all sorts of scenarios good and bad, mostly bad and then wait for them to happen or to manifest.

Why do we do that?  We do that because we can't imagine the best things happening in our lives.  Change that and be in the best place.  The place where everything works out.  Isn't that the better place to be?  I know I would rather be there.

Right at this moment as I am writing this, I am eating the best chocolate chip cookie I have eaten in a really long time.  That's because I don't normally eat chocolate chip cookies for fear that I might blow up to gargantuan proportions.  OK, how stupid is that.  Do I do this everyday?  No.  Will my body change overnight?  No.

Should I just eat my cookie with gusto and enjoy it?  Absolutely.  I am in the moment.  I finished my chocolate chip cookie and I feel great!  Satisfied and just fine.  You will never be in the same moment ever in your life so be there, stay there and leave your head out of it!

OPEN YOUR MIND, BROADEN YOUR VIEW AND SEE THE LIGHT

"Wide is the mind of those who have been enlightened" - next next Friday

Good morning everyone!  We made it to the end of the week.  I hope it all went well for you.  I have what I think is an interesting quote for today.  "Wide is the mind of those who have been enlightened."  So what does it mean to be enlightened?  If you look at the dictionary meaning it says to be open-minded, broad-minded, knowledgeable and wise.

What rings true to me is being broad-minded.  Just last week I posted that I had recently become obsessed with Nicki Minaj.  Not sure if you know who she is but she is a widely outrageous performer not only in the way she presents herself but in the lyrics and music of her songs.

My Facebook post received several likes but also a, "you've got to be joking."  When I first heard some of the songs my new friend Niki, my skin was crawling.  I couldn't believe how uncomfortable her lyrics made me feel.  I couldn't believe the outfits she slid into, yet I couldn't stop listening or watching.

Obviously she did her job.  She created a persona so outrageous you simply couldn't take your eyes from her or lower the volume.  Not what you would think I was referring to when I said enlightened right?  No I wasn't talking about Buddha sitting under a tree which is what you all thought I meant right?!

You see there are so many ways to find enlightenment and to be enlightened.  Niki Minaj opened my eyes and challenged me to see something I never saw before.  Open your eyes everyone.  Enlightenment doesn't mean you have to sit under a tree for days on end, it means to look at something in a new way.  Enlightenment means to be open minded and to broaden your view.

It means to look at something you've seen so many times before, notice it and say WOW!!!

WHAT LIES UNDERNEATH IS THE REAL BEAUTY

Good morning all.  Another day and another Thursday.  When you open the front door today what will you see or will you be able to see at all?  Will you be so consumed by what is coming next that you don't even notice the beauty in front of you?  There is always something interesting to focus on.

It is like that with people as well.  Today's quote is, "Beauty may open doors but what lies behind that beauty is what keeps them open."  Who doesn't react positively to something beautiful and attractive?  The first thing that attracts us to someone, if of course we don't know them is their appearance.

It is the physical beauty and presentation of someone that draws us in but what happens when we find out that the inside make up does not quite match up to what we see?  It leaves us wondering how such a beautiful package could be shielding such ugliness.

I remember a woman who I thought was absolutely gorgeous but the more I got to know her she seemed like two different people.  Simply stated, she was not nice, friendly, warm or caring.  What did her outer beauty matter.  The more I got to know this person the less attractive she became over time.  Her true self seeped through her skin.

Physical beauty is a wonderful attribute to have but what is underneath that façade is the actual true beauty indeed!

BE KIND - IT'S EASY

Good morning everyone.  Just as close to the weekend before as it is to the one coming up.  As always I look forward to them.  I love my Saturdays because of the new boutique I get to go to for Reiki sessions.  My day job is five days a week and even though I am going to work on a Saturday, Reiki is never work.  We all know that when you do something you love, it is not work at all.

Speaking of work, what is your work environment like?  Do you work in a large office with many people or a small place with just a few office mates.  What are the people like at your place of business?  Are they warm and friendly or cold and expressionless.  Don't you hate when you greet someone with a smile and they either just stare at you or look at their feet?  I know I do.

Today's quote is, "Are you confident enough to be kind."  I find it so ironic that I work in a large place with lots of grown ups who constantly preach the importance of kindness and compassion yet some of these grown ups walk right past you as if you are a pane of glass.  I never understood that until I was older and realized there was nothing wrong with me.

The problem is with the person who is dismissive and not just the dismissive person but their confidence level.  Clearly they have none.  When one lacks confidence and desperately wants to appear strong and in charge, the easiest way for them to do that is to come across as cold and emotionless as if showing emotions is showing weakness.

Whether you have more education than someone or less gives no one the right to act superior.  If you are in the same work environment then obviously you are all there for the same reason and share more in common than not.  More college degrees do not make you smarter.  More college degrees give you more paper to put in a frame.  Be kind to your fellow co-workers and the people you pass on the street.

Walk your halls with confidence and pride but what will be most remembered is the kindness you showed.

SINGING IN KEY

Good morning.  Sometimes I wonder if anyone out there actually takes some of my advice.  It is important for you to know that I am human.  I've had my share of hurdles to overcome.  I've had days that are amazing and days that suck no matter how positive I try and view them.

Sometimes we don't want to take advice because we think we know better or that it makes us look weak.  Sometimes it depends on who we hear it from as well.  I have a teenage daughter.  Need I say more?  For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, let me explain.  Of course according to a teenager, (and it doesn't have to be a girl) you the mom know nothing!  Absolutely nothing!

BUT!  That's not true.  As parents we know a lot just for the mere fact that we have lived longer and most likely experienced what our children are going through too.  Your children may seek advice away from you but will eventually come back and listen to you.  Today's quote is, "We can be told the same thing over and over and never hear but when we do it's like magic."

When we make mistakes we don't always want to be confronted with them.  There goes that weakness again.  We don't always want to know what we did wrong or even if we did something wrong.  When that person you love and trust points out why your repeated actions give you the same undesired results do you listen?  Maybe you listen but the real question is do you hear!

Hearing and listening are two completely different things.  Right moms!  We will all tell our children and the ones we love the same things again and again but when they actually hear you it will be magic to their ears and your heart!

WATCH NEGATIVE THOUGHTS FLOAT AWAY

Good morning everyone.  Are you one of those people who start thinking even before you open your eyes?  If you are, do you think wonderful thoughts or anything but.  Before getting out of bed I take a deep breath and just lay still for a moment.  Our days are filled with thoughts and that moment of quiet is very important to me.

What do you do if you find those negative thoughts creeping in?  It's hard to shut the door.  Today's quote is, "When negative thoughts enter your mind - visualize them on a raft floating out to sea."  While that might seem ridiculously simplistic, I am not joking.  It is like choosing a mind set.  Are you going to be positive or negative?

Is that situation you are dreading going to be awful or maybe not so bad?  Meditation has helped me so much in my ability to control anxiety.  Yes, friends.  I get anxious too but my practice has helped me put things into perspective.  As you all know, my meditations are guided but before beginning a journey, I have everyone place their negative thoughts in a giant white box.

Imagining anger, fear, worry, (to name a few) placed inside a box, gets them out of your head.  I love water!  Any water!  Could be the ocean or a lake.  Water calms me.  I grew up in a beach town and my back yard looks out to a reservoir.  I find it very easy to visualize negativity floating out to sea.  Do you like to ski?  Visualize those negative thoughts racing down the mountain on their own skis.

Negative thoughts weigh us down and life is just too busy to carry around that extra weight!  Besides, how would we ever fit into our skinny jeans!

SEEING YOUR LIFE AS YOU WANT IT TO BE

Good morning!  Welcome to Friday and hopefully a week well done.  Were you able to accomplish all you set out to?  If you didn't this week, there is always next week.  Busy can describe all of us.  I'm a big lister, not only in my head but on paper.  I like to write down all the things I need to do because it helps me remember.

We can approach life the exact same way.  Every month there is a new moon and on that day is the best time to write all the things we want to see in our lives.  Today's quote is, "Refine your vision and see your life as you want it to be."   Physically writing things down helps us to actually see what we want.

It is easy to be all over the place in your head but when you write things down it becomes clearer.  Life is wonderful and amazing but remember, you are the one who has the biggest role in what you want it to look like.  Write down as many things as you want and then narrow it down.  By doing this you are narrowing down the things that are truly important to you.

This does not mean you should desire less, it means focus on what really matters to you.  By writing it down, your vision will be 20/20!

QUESTIONS CAN BE ANSWERED IN SILENCE

Good morning and a very happy Thursday to you.  I recently met with a friend and together we spoke about how important it is to be where you are when you are there.  Does that make sense?  Here is an example.  If you are on the beach, be on the beach and not in your head.

If you are constantly in your thoughts how can you enjoy the very place where you are at the moment.  Most of us are filled with thoughts all the time.  We are incessantly talking to ourselves about our day, our future, questioning decisions made, etc.  Today's quote is, "Give yourself time - time to be alone with your thoughts - it is in that silence your questions may be answered."

Now does what I said make sense?  I can be on a plane with my family on the way to a vacation, turn to my husband and ask him where should we go next.  Clearly I'm not even enjoying the plane ride.  According to my mind I've already been on vacation and am already onto the next.  Not a way to be or to live.

I often stress how important it is to be in nature and I am always describing my walks with Mia but the truth is, very rarely have I been there.  I may be outdoors but I am only in my head.  When that was pointed out to me I realized how true it was and I began to make a huge effort to quiet that chatter in my mind.

There are many things I question and many things I have questions about but instead of talking to myself during my walks, I have made a huge effort to be quiet and silent.  Not surprisingly, clarity took over and my questions were able to be answered without me having to furrow my brow!

Wherever it is you are, be in that place!

SHOWER YOUR INNER CHILD WITH LOVE

Good morning everyone!  It's hump day.  Middle of the week although due to the Monday holiday, the week makes us feel a bit off.  The good thing is that we are all closer to yet another weekend.  I just realized how interesting it is that I always speak of the weekends as though I sit around and do nothing.  Weekends are just as packed as the week but I have more freedom of choice.

It is this way with most of us.  We go where and when we need to during the week but the weekend, as busy as it may be has more flexibility.  In that flexibility are you able to take some time for yourself?  Are you able to nourish your soul via a walk, meditation or a nice hot soak?  Are you able to get in touch with your emotions while you are busy doing your errands?

Some of us walk around hurting from things in our past but we often find it easier to bury them rather than confronting them.  Today's quote is, "Give shelter to your inner child who may have been wounded in the past and surround him or her with love."   The deeper you bury your feelings the stronger the eruption will be.  The love needed for that inner child will need uninterrupted time to begin the healing process.

There are so many ways we can occupy ourselves but sometimes what we are doing is simply distracting ourselves from facing past hurts.  Issues we have in adulthood most likely stemmed from our childhood.  Love that child within you and acknowledge the hurt that may have taken place.  Nourish your soul not only with the suggestions above but begin with the being you started out as.  That little girl or little boy who never left you.

Do not dwell on what you didn't receive as a child.  Give it to yourself now.

WASHING AWAY POISONS

Good morning everyone!  Today is the day.  I'm back at my day job.  OK me, take a deep breath.  It will all be fine.  At this moment I know someone who is on a wonderful vacation and yes, I wish I was too.  But wait!  I just had two months to myself.

Today's quote is, "Regret, envy, fear, jealousy, poisons of the worst kind - let them wash away with relief, gratitude and wonder."   If you think back on certain events in your life I'm sure there are things you regret.  It's even in a song, "Regrets, I've had a few."  Some of us have had more than a few but what is not in the song is that part that says these regrets have brought you to where you are now.  These are the regrets that have helped you grow.  Does anyone out there not want to grow?  What?  I can't hear you!  That's what I thought.

Envy, jealousy?  I said in my first paragraph that I wish I was on vacation but how many people get two months to themselves every year?  Why would I begrudge someone their vacation especially if I had no idea how badly they needed it.  Fear?  Absolutely.  We all have had our share of fear in our lives but we can take that fear and turn it into something much more positive.

During my guided meditations I talk about taking fear and turning it into wonder and excitement and releasing that feeling of dread.  If you expect something awful it will manifest for you.  Regret, envy, fear, jealousy are all poisons of a sort.  None of these words represent anything good and you don't even feel good saying them.

Next time a negative word pops into your head, exchange it immediately for a positive one.  In other words, try you best to look at the bright side no matter how dim.  Feelings and emotions are something we all have and not every day is going to be filled with wonder and excitement but if we can really really try to choose a different approach, our days will be much better and we will all be much happier!

THE BRIGHTEST SUN COMES AFTER A STORM

Good morning everyone.  Today is it.  The very last official day of summer.  The blessing is that we have so many more summers ahead of us but the reality is that this one is over.  I hope it was wonderful for all of you.  I can't lie.  Even with all the rain storms, humidity and heat, I will miss it dearly.

Fall is not officially here until mid September but it is a good time to start thinking ahead to any changes you want to make.  Leave the past in the past.  Don't perseverate on what was but focus on what will be.  Fall is a wonderful time to make that fresh start as the air begins to clear and the scent around you has even changed.  Don't you just love a crisp autumn morning?

Today's quote is, "Vow to be true to yourself and persevere through any storm - it will eventually clear."  When you are in the midst of a crisis and things don't seem to be going your way or any way for that matter that is the exact moment when you shouldn't give up.  When you need to find your inner strength to keep going.

I know it is hard.  Of course I know.  I'm human, I get it.  We all have gone through hell at some point in our lives and some of us may be right in the very center of an awful hell at this moment.  That storm could involve friendships, career decisions, romantic partners and bad situations where  we see no way out.

Is it easier to remain friends with that person who only pretends to care about you?  Sometimes it is but then where does that leave you?  Have you chosen a career because you were pushed into it?  If you are unhappy there why would you stay?  Being true to yourself doesn't mean you tell the world to go to hell.

Being true to yourself means that you value yourself more and if fighting your way through those winds of change is what you need to do, you do it
.  Storms subside and time heals.  When that storm is over the wind is gone and the sun is stronger than ever!
