TIME TO LET GO OF THE GUILT - Thursday, 1/28

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  During my guided meditations I help my clients release a array of negative emotions that we've held onto since childhood.  Ones that have been reinforced by employers, partners and people in our lives who've come to mirror what we think we deserve and how we should feel.

An emotion that seems to come up again and again is guilt.  We feel guilty about everything from our less than perfectly replicated Martha Stewart dinner presentation to the rain that fell during our child's soccer game.  The truth is we are not Martha Stewart and control in the weather is completely out of our hands.  Somewhere during the years of our childhood, guilt played a huge role for us and it started with questions of why.  Why didn't you....how could you....what were you thinking....If only you didn't...this wouldn't have happened.  IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT!

We may not have had an immediate answer but we had an immediate feeling that we did something wrong and were, here goes.....GUILTY!  Hence guilt became part of our core, snuggling in making itself  way too comfortable to ever want to leave.

Today's quote is, "The guilt we carry from each lifetime will continue to the next - use this time to release guilt - the most useless of emotions."  Guilt really is the most useless of emotions.  Think about it.  It is a punishment that never ends.  We rehash events in our lives, feel bad about the outcome and then feel guilty because we should have done something else.

STOP.  You might not be competition for Martha Stewart but you made a fabulous meal for your family! The soccer game may have been rained out but you were there watching and getting soaked while cheering on your mini Pele.

Release guilt from your life knowing that you did your very best!

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

DEFINING MOMENTS ARE NUMEROUS

Good morning everyone.  Happy Tuesday.  How's your memory?  I would say I'm like the average person who remembers events in my life that were fun, exciting, joyful but also painful and downright awful.  Hyperthymesia is when you can remember every single event in your life.  I don't have that and I don't think I would want it.   Who really cares what you ate for breakfast three Tuesdays ago and what you were thinking about at that moment?  Most of our daily thoughts get filed away under the category of non essential.

What we do remember are the turning points in our lives.  Those are the ones filed under the category of life changing.  Today's quote is, "Defining moments are many as our lives are constantly changing."  We are not defined by one single event.  A life is filled with celebrations and heartache but each and every one contribute to who we are.

You are not the same at 20, 30, 40, etc.  Thinking back on just one experience from each decade could be why you acted a certain way in another.  What we do, how we respond, why we live our lives the way we do is because of what we did and how we responded at the time which helped define us.  We are ever evolving and constantly changing.  Let not one moment define who you are.  It ain't over yet!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

A CLEAN SOUL

Good morning everyone.  Happy Thursday.  I love taking a hot shower on a cold day.  The warm water feels so good and soothing leaving you feeling clean and refreshed.  Showering is just one way to cleanse.  How do we cleanse emotionally?  How do we cleanse ourselves from past hurts not just from our life time but from the many lifetimes we have had before?

If there are issues we've ignored or repressed they will come up over and over again.  If they are repressed they still remain part of our unconscious making us unaware of why we act in a particular way or react to situations in a particular fashion.  If they are ignored well that just means that we don't want to deal!

Its hard to face difficult issues in our lives and harder still to confront our shadow selves, the side of our personality that has all the parts of ourselves we don't want to admit having.   That takes work.  Lots and lots of work but if you are willing to work the rewards are profound.

Today's quote is, "We will emerge from the shadows in broad daylight as new beings with a cleansed soul."  It takes enormous courage to work on yourself and to confront things about yourself that you don't want to recognize and simply wish were gone.  We are all a work in progress.  Your cleanse doesn't have to take place overnight.  For some of us it is too difficult.  Begin slowly and with small steps and when your work is complete, bathe in the beauty of a gorgeous golden sun.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

SURRENDER - IT ISN'T TRUE

Good morning everyone.  Happy Tuesday.  Do you remember growing up believing all the old wives tales you were told.  Here are some I probably believed in myself.  Shaving makes the hair grow back thicker.  Chances are your mom may have told you this so you wouldn't shave your legs no matter how hairy they were.  Don't make silly faces or that expression will become permanent.  How ridiculous is that one.  If that were true there would be many with perennially rolling eyes.  Here's an all time favorite.  Masturbation will make you blind.  No words needed.

Now that I made you laugh let's get serious.  What did you grow up believing and still believe to this day.  That you weren't good enough at.....that you didn't deserve....that.....could never happen to someone like you?

Today's quote is, "Surrender - don't hold yourself hostage to what you thought was true what you heard was true or what you believed to be true."  The time has come to shed those old beliefs.  The ones instilled in you from childhood that prevented you from becoming what you wanted to become.  I am here to hand you the key and release you from your prison of the past.

Although it is much easier to believe in what you were told than to believe you are wonderful, amazing and strong I am telling you because you are no longer 10, 6, 12, or 8.  You are an adult, one that can make your own decisions.  Decide this very moment to believe in yourself and to be free!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!~Love, Amy

YOU ARE MAGIC

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  I speak constantly about taking responsibility for our own lives repeating that blame does nothing but resolve yourself of the very thing we all need to do....take responsibility!  In our quest to do just that we sometimes hit upon stumbling blocks.  Sometimes they are there because we are moving too fast in the wrong direction.  Sometimes they are there because we need to be more clear and more observant.  Sometimes there is no deep meaning at all.

In the end it is all up to us because we are the ones who decide to move forward, backward or stand still.  Ultimately we are the ones to proceed with our goals and dreams no matter how large or small.  Today's quote is, "Be the one to make the magic happen."

YES!!!!! You have the power to do so many incredible things and magic is only one of them.  You don't need a wand or wings.  You need desire, strength and fortitude.  And don't forget.  What is magic to you is not magic to another!  Isn't everything subjective?  Magic included!  Create your life, an event, or an experience!  Let it be magical because you are the one to make magic happen.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

LET GO

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday.  You may know this about me already but I'm a shoe girl.  I love shoes.  I love boots too.  I remember buying a pair of adorable low cut, high heeled, black leather trimmed, maroon suede boots that were ever so snug.  I told you I was a shoe girl!  I could do it I thought.  They're not that tight.  At least not until I paid for them and brought them home.

The first time I wore them I thought I would have to amputate my toes.  Each digit from big toe to pinkie were huddled together in the shape of a C.  The lack of blood flow finally convinced me that try as I might, these boots just didn't work. I held onto them just to stare at their beauty until finally bidding them adieu!

We might love an article of clothing from our youth but worn twenty years later it looks like we are holding onto what was.  We hold onto relationships because we fear there is nothing better out there and not just romantic relationships but friendships as well.  If the past is no longer there then why do we hold onto it?

Today's quote is, "There is one thing that is impossible - holding onto what no longer exists."  We give ourselves reasons or shall I say excuses for why we stay in places we really don't want to be.  It made me sad to toss the shoes but I realized my feet wouldn't shrink.  Stop hoping for people to change.  They rarely do.  Stop thinking the job is going to get better.  It might get worse.  Stop holding onto a past that is long gone because when you do you will open yourself up to the love and happiness you so deserve.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

CELEBRATE YOUR REBIRTH

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  The new year is always a time for looking forward.  No point in turning your head around to see what you left behind.  This is a time for you to forge ahead and work on those plans you created in your mind months ago.  You can always create, explore, wonder, wish and dream but the new year is the push we need to start doing and stop thinking.  Now is the time to give birth to your dreams and wake up your sleeping soul.

Today's quote is, "A rebirthing is a celebration of the soul."  We talk about the things we want to do all the time while simultaneously making excuses why we can't.  Too busy, too tired, too difficult, too this, too that, blah, blah, blah.  Here is what is tiring.  A bored soul.  A disinterested soul.  A soul so numb to external distractions that this poor soul lets itself be pelted with rain, snow and misery.

I'll let you in on a little secret.  Everything's hard.  Its all hard.  Complacency is so easy but soul numbing too.  Why let those dreams die because you are tired?  Aren't we all!  Create what you envisioned.  Let that dream be alive.  Don't let your soul shrink and wither.  The time has come and I'm hopeful you have run out of excuses. Give birth to those dreams and celebrate the rebirthing of your soul!

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

THINK IT AND CREATE IT

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday!  Its nice to be back after a bit of a break.  We all need one, even me!  I hope your holidays were wonderful and stress free.  So much emphasis is placed on giving gifts as a way of showing gratitude and appreciation for one or eight days out of the year.  You don't need a holiday to be grateful for all that you have in your life.  Make every day a holiday by giving gratitude and being grateful.  Use the "holidays" to rest and have silence in your life.  Those moments are so rare.

Use the time to discover things about yourself and now that we are in a brand new year think about what you wish it to look like.  Today's quote is, "Imagination is desire waiting to be born."  If you can imagine it then why can't you create it?  Why can't you make that dream come true?  We all have dreams right?  Don't get discouraged because last year something didn't work out.  Maybe it didn't happen because the timing wasn't right.  Maybe it didn't happen because, let's face it, you chose something that was completely unrealistic.  The Universe knew it and deep in your heart and soul you did too.

The new year brings a rejuvenation of spirit while leaving some feeling like a deflated balloon.  All that you desired didn't manifest and so you feel let down and at a loss.  That's ok.  Give yourself the space to feel whatever it is you need to feel.  Grief, loss, sorrow, frustration and acceptance but throw in some gratitude.  Always be grateful.  Grateful that a new year has begun and opportunities will once again present themselves to you and the timing will be right.

Timing is between you and the Universe.  Trust me as there have been things I so desperately wanted at the wrong time in my life and guess what?  They didn't manifest because it never would have worked out.  Keep imagining but refine that image each and every time.  Keep that desire as well and with refinement what you imagine will become a reality!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy
