CHOOSING YOUR RELIGION

Good morning everyone.  Happy Thursday.  A few months ago I had a banter with someone who turned a quote of mine into a religious statement.  I have nothing against anyone's religious beliefs.  I do have a problem with threats stemming from religion.  I value many different religions for their positive qualities not their punitive dogma.  The same reason many others have abandoned religion altogether, taking their focus elsewhere.

Today's quote is, "Let self-belief become your religion."   This doesn't only mean believing in your capabilities but holding true to your moral compass.  Not fighting with anyone to climb that ladder.  Knowing there is enough for everyone.  

Always believe in yourself but to that add kindness, compassion, love and truth and let that also be your religion.

OH THOSE VIBRATIONS

Good morning everyone.  Happy Tuesday.  Have you ever been awakened by a nightmare?  One that keeps you up with a feeling you just can't shake?  I think we've all been there.  When logic and reason take over, you may realize how ridiculous that so called nightmare actually was yet the discomfort it leaves can remain longer than you would like, squeezing its negativity into every fiber of your being.  You know its not real but it sure feels like it is and can even upset your entire day!

Today's quote is, "Your vibrations have created everything around you."   Your day is up to you.  You can turn it around at any point.  Why let a dream, an argument, a traffic jam, crappy coffee or a million other things ruin your day?  

I get the thing about the nightmare and dreams.  They can feel so real but the bottom line is that they aren't so why let something that isn't even real, disrupt or ravage your day.  Let go of those yucky vibrations because they are oozing out everywhere!  They will follow you and show up at your workplace, your home and every human you meet.

Still in a bad mood?  Honor it for a minute then move on.  Good vibrations are where its at and those will certainly be felt by everyone around you!

A LIFE THAT IS YOURS

Good morning everyone.  Happy Thursday.  Conversations with my parents always begin the same way.  Question, "what's new?"  Answer, "nothing."  My dad would always remind me that "nothing" is good.  "Boring" is also good.  Surprises are fun but there are many kinds of surprises!  Ones that are life changing in a good way and ones that throw you completely off course.  

Today's quote is, "Ordinary is life with its ups and downs and twists and turns but extraordinary because it is yours."  Social media has done a fantastic job of letting us know what is lacking in our lives.  The barrage of images we see daily show us how boring we are because we aren't surfing in Costa Rica or wearing designer clothes.

We forget that we might be too busy driving kids to school to be surfing at the moment.  Does that mean our lives are boring?  Hell no!  Its exactly where we are and where we need to be.  How great is it when you find your misplaced glasses, gloves, keys....you name it.  At that moment you are on top of the world and experiencing the most extraordinary moments in your extraordinary life!!!!

IN SYNC

 Good morning everyone.  Happy Tuesday.  Have you ever felt misunderstood?  Not the teenage rally cry of "no one understands me!" but as an adult, around people who just don't jive with you.  Its a strange place to be.  Words are spoken but you hear them differently.  Explanations made in a way you don't comprehend. This is why when we are in sync with someone, we know and when we are not, we also know!

Today's quote is, "It is OK if not everyone gets you - they aren't supposed to ."   Journeying through life, we will come across those we feel like we've known forever.  People we are so comfortable with, who wrap their warmth around us like a soft blanket, but we will also meet up with those we dislike immediately.  The ones that have that something you cannot put your finger on yet create a wall upon first meeting.

Not everyone needs to be your best buddy or even your friend.  When there is a mutual understanding between people, no words need to be spoken.  You can feel it.  There is a song that says, "Love the One You're With," but that doesn't always happen.  

Whoever is in your life is there for a reason whether it is to understand you or not.  Accept it and move on.

CLOSE THE BOOK

Good morning everyone.  Happy Thursday.  These days you cannot go on Facebook, Instagram or the grocery store without running into an over sharer.   They're everywhere!  Better be careful when you ask someone about their day, you're liable to hear ALL ABOUT IT!    Why do we feel the need to reveal every bit of minutia of our lives?

Today's quote is, "Your life may be an open book but not everyone should read it."  I should add that not everyone wants to read it either!  Openness and vulnerability have been all the rage in the past few years but like everything else, we seem to be over doing it.

Do you really need to know the details of a family's stomach flu down to the color of their regurgitated dinner?   No, I thought not.  Do you really need to hear the sob story of a Life Coach and why they are now a Life Coach?  Honestly when I read some of these stories, (I know right?  Why am I reading them?  Its like a car crash that you can't keep your eyes from!!) these coaches would be the last on my list.

We all have stories.  Every one of us.  It doesn't mean we have to spill them out to the world.  Is it a good thing to be open and vulnerable?  Of course it is but some things should be left unsaid and kept to yourself.

DAILY STRUGGLES

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday.  Every day is a new day that brings either challenges or nothing at all.  Are you up for a challenge on a Monday morning?  Would you prefer a Wednesday afternoon?  You don't get to choose.  Days where nothing, absolutely nothing happens can bring their own challenges as well.  Whatever happens in your day you need to be prepared.

Today's quote is, "The definition of strength changes every day."  There are days that roll into one another without a hitch while other times it is one thing after another. 

The strength we need to overcome enormous challenges and difficulties differs greatly from day to day from the daily nuisances, to major annoyances to heartache and grief.  My prayers are the latter is a rarity.

The strength within you is deep and and can be brought out when it is needed for any situation.  Every day is new and every day makes you that much stronger.
