WHAT IF...

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday.  What if you won the lottery?  What if you dyed your hair red?  What if you took that trip?  We all have what ifs in our life but its never too late to make those what ifs a reality.

Today's quote is, "Living with what ifs will forever leave you wondering."  Life has so much to offer why not try it all?  While I am blessed with so many things and grateful for it all there are still things I would love to try, to taste, to see and to feel.

Curiosity is a wonderful thing.  We learn by being curious and the only way to satisfy that curiosity is to try new things.  While there is always tomorrow, while we hope there is always tomorrow, the truth is we never know.  Live your life to the fullest.  Why live life wondering.  Its much more fun doing!  By the way, you can't win it if you aren't in it!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

LOOK ME IN THE EYE

Good morning everyone.  Happy Thursday.  Those of us who are shy tend to look at our feet when we walk to avoid having to look at anyone.  Disinterest in another reason people tend to look down rather than up not wanting to bother with the human race.

Today's quote is, "Eye contact - the subtle way to say hello and share good vibes."  When someone passes you by on the street, in the aisle of the grocery store or in a corridor and smiles at you doesn't it lift you up?  Doesn't it make you feel good to be acknowledged if only for a moment?

Eye contact is such a small thing but a big at the same time.  Eyes speak silently and loudly.  We can feel those vibes shooting out in blue, brown, green and hazel.  Next time you walk by a stranger, let your eyes greet them.  It is the subtle way to speak, to say hello and to share all those good vibes.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone, ~Love, Amy

NOT FOR YOU

Good morning and happy Tuesday.  Did you ever think to yourself, "how the hell did I get here and why am I still here?"  When I first began my day job it was fun.  Really!  The environment was one of care, concern and appreciation.  I could never figure out when all that ceased to exist.

I began to realize that I am in a job where I am supposed to make a difference yet not making one at all. My work as a healer extends beyond my Reiki table but politics and lack of leadership created a toxic environment where even with the best of intentions, my healing went unnoticed.  Time to move on.  You know why?

Today's quote, is, "What is outrageous and impossible is because you were meant for something else entirely."  A job in futility is not a job at all.  It is a redundancy that becomes too much to bear on a soul that craves more.

If I am also describing you, then don't beat yourself up if you feel like you aren't making a difference or you are just taking up space.  Know that it is outrageous to be where you are and impossible to make a difference because you were meant for so much more!!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

JUST KIDDING

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  Who doesn't like a good joke.  It is said that laughter is the best medicine.  I couldn't agree more.  It gets you out of your head and somewhere else, at least for a few moments.  There are jokes, riddles and another type of joke known as sarcasm, a dear friend of mine.

When adding sarcasm to your repertoire, be careful.  It is not always read the way it is meant to.  Today's quote is, "Be wary of sarcasm that off color joke it speaks volumes."  I adore sarcasm whether hearing it from others or being an active participant.  When being sarcastic one must know one's audience.

Aside from being funny, sarcasm can be positively cutting making the one on the receiving end look and feel completely inadequate.  There is a time and place for everything, even jokes.  Jokes should be fun and make us laugh with delight, not slink away in embarrassment.  The lesson here is think before you speak!

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

TRUTH HURTS

Good morning everyone.  Happy Tuesday.  Much has been written on the subjects of truth and lies.  We are told to both speak our truths and tell no lies, neither of which is a hundred percent possible.  Many of us would like to tell our bosses to shove it but we need that paycheck.  If someone you love added some bulk to their frame its probably a good idea not to tell them your thoughts on the matter.

Harder still is when we avoid our own truths and convince ourselves of what we wish to hear. Today's quote is, "To admit the truth is hard to hold onto a lie is harder."  Sometimes we are in situations that aren't right for us yet we stay, convinced that its the right thing to do.

There is a freedom that comes with admittance.  Remaining in places that make you unhappy only cause stress and anxiety in your life and thank you very much, day to day living is hard enough.

Be honest with yourself.  Did your jeans shrink or was it the extra dessert?  Is where you are right now the best place for you?  Only you can answer that.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

UNLOCKED DOORS

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  There is a key to everything.  A key to knowledge, a key to success, keys to the city not to mention house keys and car keys.  Sucks when you're locked out or can't find those damn keys.  Kinda funny when you realize you didn't even need one.

Today's quote is, "The doors that were closed before were never locked you just weren't ready to open them."  Sometimes we think we are ready for something but we're really not.   For whatever reason that door needs to be closed.

Timing is an important factor in our lives.  Timing lets us know when we can forge ahead or when we must take it slow.  This isn't like letting go of your dreams.  Nope!  Not at all.  It simply means that you were busy living your life of the moment.  It means that you were busy doing exactly what you needed to at that time in your life.

Keep on living.  Do what you need to because when you are ready to change, those unlocked doors will swing wide open!

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

ACCEPTANCE OF WHAT WILL NEVER BE

Good morning and happy Tuesday.  I don't think there is a kid in this world who hasn't said, "I wish I could fly," but that's all it is, just a wish.  No matter how hard you wish you could fly, your feet aren't leaving the ground.

Today's quote is, "There are some things that are not possible and will never be - accept that reality without regret and understand that some things are not meant to be."  I would love to fly and soar above the trees like a hawk but that's never going to happen.  I always wanted to be tall.  Five foot seven to be exact but that's not going to happen either.

I know I'm the one who is constantly telling you that anything and everything is possible but if I forgot to add, "within reason," please forgive me.  A large part of success is knowing what is truly possible and attainable.  One should always strive to be the best and to aim for the stars.  Just make sure those stars aren't too high to grab!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

STAY HUMBLE

Good morning.  Happy Thursday.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all had happy childhoods?  Wouldn't it be great to never face adversity?  Wait a second.  I'm not really sure about either of those things.  A happy childhood doesn't always lead to happiness in adulthood.  Adversity is part of life!  How can you deal with adversity if you never faced it?

Confidence is something we gain as we experience different things.  You don't start out as a great anything unless of course you are a prodigy.  You need to practice and the more you practice the more confident you are in your skills.  While confidence is a good thing, we must be careful not to become cocky.

Today's quote is, "As your confidence rises stay humble - we all rise at different times."   Isn't it better to share someone's joy rather than sitting on a pedestal all by yourself?  We feel good when we accomplish our goals.  Celebrating someone else doesn't belittle our own performance.

Confidence is a wonderful thing.  Use yours to boost someone else!

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

A FLAW OF THE SPIRIT - Tuesday, 5/3

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday.  How wonderful it is to work in an environment of support and care.  Is that where you work cause its not where I go everyday which is why I was imagining if there was actually such a place?  The proverb, "you get more bees with honey than with vinegar," has been lost on many in positions of power.  Why and when did this happen?  I can't answer that but I can venture a guess.

Today's quote is, "Belittlement is a skill perfected by the insecure and fearful."  The bully is not just the mean kid in the school yard.  He (or she) is also the one who sits behind a huge desk or menacingly walks the halls.  The cause of such behavior is usually due to a feeling of deep insecurity in oneself.

How could anyone feel good knowing that you made someone feel really really bad?  Another question that baffles me, but I do believe that my quote answers that question.  If someone is insecure in him or herself that leads to outside fears and this is what leads to bad sportsmanship.  These are not the people you want on your team.

Hard as it may be (YES!!!! Its f_____g hard!) but find that twinge of compassion in your heart and understand that that reprimand is coming from a place of insecurity and fear, a horrible place to be!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy
