RUBY SLIPPERS

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  We all know the phrase, "the grass is always greener on the other side."  We all know exactly what it means because at one time or another we have felt that way.  Someone who has the better job, house, vacation, car, you name it and someone will have it.  Or so you may think.  

Do we really know the intricacies of everyone's lives?  My life doesn't replicate J.Lo's but I don't want it to.  Is she in amazing shape?  She sure is, but I wouldn't want to work out for four hours a day and so I remain happy with my shape.

Today's quote is, "I don't need to wear your shoes - mine are the perfect fit."  Your life fits you like a glove.  The life you are living was designed especially for you.  Each and every future event was there and will be there so that you can learn, change and grow.  

Can we admire what others have?  Of course we can but what you have is yours.  Love it, feel it and know your life fits you to a T!!

PRECIOUS TIME

Good morning and happy Tuesday.  Be on time.  Don't be late.  Haste makes waste.  Time is of the essence.  We place so much emphasis on something that is neither linear or truly quantifiable so why do we obsess over something we cannot quantify.  I cannot answer that question.  What I do know is that while we are here on earth at this very moment we should enjoy ourselves and live our lives to the fullest.

Today's quote is, "Love with all your being - laugh with pure delight - our time here is precious make it meaningful."   Time is nothing but a manmade construct.  It is used to monitor and control us.  The ancient Egyptians had the right idea.  They invented sundials which measured the amount of daylight.  They didn't know if it was 1:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon and I suppose they didn't care.  

Time is necessary in the lives we live.  What is also necessary is to enjoy the space from sunrise to sunset because we can never get it back.  Not every minute will have deep meaning and significance but the fact that you are here, breathing, living, eating and just being should be done with purpose and love.

LIFTED BY FEAR

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  Fear is very powerful.  It can make us jump or freeze.  Either way, fear will make us to react.  What will you do when fear comes your way?  Instead of thinking of it as a bad thing embrace it and let it lift you up!

Today's quote is, "Let fear lift you - shift you and move you out of stagnation."  Think of fear as a kick in the ass if you will.  As terrifying as it may be to be afraid and fearful, isn't it worse to be unhappy and complacent?  I'm not talking about scary movie fright.  

I'm talking about the "I can't do, stay, be.... for the next thirty years kind of fright.

That's the kind of fear that can really get one going.  Circumstances may dictate where we are and where we need to be but keep that fear in the back of your mind.  One of these days circumstances will change and that fear that you have held onto for so long will lift you, shift you and move you merrily along.

GONE AND FORGOTTEN

Good morning everyone.  Happy Tuesday.  There's a difference between reminiscing and harping.  I love the word, reminiscing.  It always makes me think of the Little River Band song, named Reminiscing which brings me back to years gone by.  "Each time we hear that favorite song, the memories come along."   And come along they do with fond memories of the past.  

Harping is something entirely different.  "Why did I do that?" "What was I thinking?"  "What happens if?"  It has a much different vibe and a rather unpleasant feel.  What's done is usually done.  You can't redo something you already did.  What you can do is forgive yourself and move on.

Today's quote is, "What happened yesterday is gone, forget it and focus on today."  File this away in the category of easier said than done but let that file be close at hand.  We make all sorts of mistakes.  Some can be rectified; some you can apologize for and others where there is nothing you can do to change the outcome. 

Allow yourself to feel all the emotions that come with it.  Anger, upset, guilt, sadness, devastation, whatever comes to mind but don't allow yourself to relive those moments and emotions over and over again.  They simply serve no purpose.

Leave yesterday behind.  You have more important things to do today.

WHAT WILL YOU WEAR

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  It is said that eyes are the windows to the soul.  Every eye of every color lets us see beneath the surface.  We can see someone who is kind and caring but we can also see someone who is quite the opposite.  Its like wearing an outfit that doesn't quite fit right.  It just doesn't look good.

Today's quote is, "No one wears envy well."  No one!  Just go to a black tie event with a bunch of women.  You'll see who your friends really are!  I know you are laughing because we've all been there.  "OMG, look what she's wearing!"  Envy goes beyond black tie attire.  

We can be jealous and envious of just about anything but what a waste of time.  Jealousy and envy only take away from your own happiness.  Many live on the island of more, bigger and better.  Its ok to want more to want bigger and to want better but never begrudge someone for what they worked for or what they have.

Wear what fits and envy just doesn't!

FINDING NEW WAYS

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday.  Everyone has some sort of routine.  It may vary a little bit from day to day but unless you are on vacation most of our days mirror each other.  Having a routine works for most people but when you have certain ways of doing things that just don't work do you repeat those ways?

Today's quote is, "We all have our ways but when your ways stop working what will you do."   The meaning of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results yet I don't think we're all insane.  We just get comfortable and don't want to change.  The real question is will you change?  Will you try something new especially when old ways are clearly not winning.  That's up to you entirely.

This can be the best time to get creative.  Not feeling it?  No rush.  You will know when to make your move because clearly, you are not insane!

RELEASE THOSE EXPECTATIONS

Good morning everyone.  Happy Thursday.  Expectations can lead to disappointment yet we do this to ourselves over and over again.  We think we know how we want everything to work out.  On some level this is very true.  We want what is best for ourselves but sometimes what we think is best really isn't.

We all have goals and of course there are some things we need to do to reach them but what if we took a step back and let things unfold naturally rather than forcing them.  Today's quote is, "I release expectations knowing everything is going to work out as it should."  The real question is can you do this!  Can you really let go of expectations and trust the Universe with all your heart?

I can't tell you how many times the Universe has come through for me.  Like you I've been burned by life more than once.  Like you I've been resentful and bitter but I also realized the house had to burn before being rebuilt.  Its not easy to change your ways but its never to late to try and let life surprise you!

WE ALL DERSEVE LOVE

 Good morning everyone.  Happy Tuesday.  Did you ever come across someone who is angry all the time?  I used to have the most miserable neighbor on one side of me.  The man never smiled, waved or said hello.  You don't have to be best friends with your neighbors but a level of civility should be maintained.  

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.  If someone is crabby towards me, maybe it is because they had a bad day.  I have bad days.  We all have bad days but if you have nothing but bad days something is definitely not right and if smiling is such an effort perhaps that person is having more than just a bad day.

Today's quote is, "Those with such anger are those most unloved."  That's a pretty heavy statement. When we come across people who seem to be angry all the time do you give it any thought other than to think to yourself, "what a jerk!"  I admit I didn't either but a few years ago I went to a lecture given by a holistic doctor who said that people who are so angry never had love in their lives.

At the time it seemed too simplistic to throw every angry person into a giant unloved ball but if you think about it, I do believe it to be true.  Take my neighbor as an example.  What I found out was that he was distanced from his parents, never saw his sister, was divorced and rarely saw his own children.  After a while his live in girlfriend also left.  Love clearly alluded this man.

Its hard to be patient and kind when confronted with nastiness but take a step back and know that not everyone has been given the gift of love.
