Good morning everyone. Happy Thursday. Many people pride themselves on how disciplined they are when it comes to diet and exercise refraining from certain foods and never missing a workout. Do those folks really feel good never eating an apple cider donut in the fall and sprinting past a garden never stopping to smell those roses? I can't answer for anyone but I will say that if you eat a donut once in a while and walk rather than run you won't blow up to enormous proportions.
It is wonderful to be disciplined but is being disciplined really that or is it habit. Our tendency towards the same extends to what we eat, how we dress, the kinds of books we read, the leisure activities we participate in and just about anything you can think of including the way we react to certain people and certain situations.
There are those who push our buttons yet we respond in a way that leaves one party extremely satisfied while we are utterly frustrated and so our buttons get pushed over and over again because our response is the one we are used to as well.
WAIT!!! You don't have to do that anymore. Today's quote is, "Being in pause allows you to evaluate, reevaluate, contemplate and think about old ways that were habits in desperate need of change." Habits can be broken especially if they no longer serve you. Try a new breakfast, wear different colors, enough with the self-help books. If your reactions never change, those books aren't doing much good anyway.
Lastly when those buttons get pushed and they will, stop, evaluate, reevaluate and contemplate your brand new reaction for this is nothing more than a habit in desperate need of change!!
Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy
