PUT AN END TO SUFFERING - Thursday, 11/5

Good morning everyone.  Happy Thursday.  As human beings, we have many things in common.  We like to think we are so different from each other but in reality we all want to be safe, secure, loved, prosperous and happy.  Not one of us wishes for sadness but on occasion we find ourselves in that place.  No one likes being angry but sometimes that emotion gets the better of us and while suffering on any level is certainly not desirable, we find that we suffer when we let our emotions take hold.

Today's quote is, "Suffering is the great equalizer among us all but does it have to be."  When we are sad, we suffer.  When we are angry, we suffer.  Expectation and anticipation can lead to suffering when the desired outcomes fails.  The amount of money in one's bank account does not protect you from suffering.

Some of us were raised in loving households while others found themselves in the most abusive of situations leaving an innocent victim to be both child and to self-parent.  It is difficult to understand why the Universe would put any child in such a home but it happens.

Those of us raised in enviable households can still find a friend in misery.  It is ultimately up to us to put an end to suffering by being our own protector, nurturer, friend and champion.  There are those brought into this world in the most horrific circumstances yet rise above while others simply cannot or don't know how.
Acknowledge the existence of pain and suffering but don't become life long friends.  Let joy overshadow pain.  Let happiness be stronger than misery and put a permanent end to all suffering.  It may not be easy but it certainly is a much more desirable way to live.

Have a wonderful day everyone! ~Love, Amy

DOESN'T MATTER HOW YOU GET THERE

Good morning everyone.  Happy Tuesday.  Are you bold or are you timid?  Maybe you are in between.  Are you a blind follower or do you prefer to lead?  We are different and we act differently depending on the situation.

How have you handled your journey so far?  The journey that has taken you from childhood to adolescence and adulthood?  I don't know about you but I'm certainly not done with my travels and am willing to keep on going.

Today's quote is, "Hold the ladder -  steady the boat - grip the wheel and take the journey wherever it may lead."  Part of the fun of life is not knowing where it will take you.  Sure we begin with a direction but encounter detours along the way.  Why panic?  Sometimes the unknown road leads you down a prettier path.

There is fear in the unknown.  We as a species prefer to be in control and to know what comes next but our plans may or may not coincide with ones the Universe has in mind for us.  I say just go with it.  If you are a leader, try being a follower and if you are a follower then keep going!  Either way you won't be disappointed.  Life can be fun and exciting but you are the one who needs to allow for both fun and excitement.

Grip that wheel and enjoy the ride!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

NO GUARANTEES

Good morning everyone.  Happy Thursday.  When you are healthy you don't think about being sick.  When you have a home you don't think about what it might be like to sleep on a park bench.  When  you have a stocked refrigerator you don't think about hunger.

When was the last time you wondered if there would be food on the table?  What a horrible thought.  I couldn't imagine not being able to feed my family but there are people who worry about this every day.  The life you know can change in an instant and when it does rarely is there a warning.

Today's quote is, "Take nothing for granted - you never know when it can be taken away."  We have all been witness to a life turned upside down.  No longer able to enjoy basic freedoms before being engulfed in a global pandemic, many of us suffered from severe stress and anxiety until we learned (and many are still learning) how to deal with our new lives.

Look what happens to relationships when you take them for granted.  Break-ups, separation and divorce.  That skinny person who could eat anything without gaining an ounce suddenly has a metabolic slow down and has to change their eating habits.  Might not sound like a biggie but if your breakfast was bacon, egg and cheese on a roll, adjusting to a bowl of oatmeal might be tough to swallow!

Rather than taking anything for granted we need to appreciate the blessings in our lives by giving gratitude.  Gratitude for the roof over our heads, the food on our plates, the people in our lives and life itself.  Life is precious and everything about it is precious as well.  Take nothing for granted and nothing in stride~you never know!

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

SAY SO LONG TO FEAR AN DOUBT

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday.  Did you ever come up with a great idea and almost immediately squash it?  It seems that we need no time at all to tell ourselves with absolute confidence that our great idea will never work.  The excitement of possibilities is cut short by two things.  Fear and doubt, good friends that hover over us like two very unwelcome guests.

Today's quote is, "Fear is what makes us halt and hesitate long enough to question and doubt our abilities."  Fear is an important emotion.  Fear tells us not to stick our hands in a lions cage or drink sour milk.  Fear is there to stop us from doing dangerous things not to stop us from living the lives we want.

Everything starts with an idea.  Next comes the excitement and confidence to go through with it.  That is the hard part.  We find it so much easier to erase any ounce of confidence in ourselves, allowing our great ideas to turn to dust.

Anyone out there remember the Pet Rock?  Yea, that's right.  A Pet Rock.  Sounds crazy, right?  Good thing the inventor didn't allow fear or doubt to stop him.  His idea started a craze that made him a small fortune.  I presume you've heard of Jeff Bezos.  You're picturing that Amazon logo right now aren't you?  Back in the early 90's he had this crazy idea of launching an online shopping platform that was perceived as stupid by many of his friends.  Good thing he didn't listen to them or any bit of fear or doubt he may have had.

There is only room for one voice in your head, the one that says go for it, what a great idea, you are amazing.  That's the one I want you to hear and listen to.  When fear and doubt raise their ugly heads, show them the door and let them know they have no place in you head or your life unless of course you have some sour milk in your fridge!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

STORIES PREVIOUSLY WRITTEN

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  Destiny will say that we were meant to be something or do something even if we gave no thought to whatever that something might be.  Destiny says that our lives have been predetermined and that we have no control over it.  I partially believe in destiny but I also believe you have choices that can change that pre-written script.

Our lives take us on twists, turns and to places we never thought we would go to, most of them ultimately of our own choosing.  The destiny I do believe in is the one that was put in place before we made our official debut.  Today's quote is, "We are here to fulfill the stories that were written for us long before we arrived."

If we were destined to be here then certainly we were destined to fulfill our stories.  Albert Einstein wasn't here to be a baker and Barbra Streisand wasn't here to be a seamstress.  We are all here to reach a destination.  We arrived at point A but it is up to us to get to point B no matter how long it takes.  Time doesn't matter.

We read about people who do remarkable things even though their beginnings were not that remarkable.  That is because the plan was laid out.  I know that everything I have done in my life to date has lead me to where I am.  The experiences I have had were there to contribute to my present state of being.

I imagine it is the same for you.  Keep going towards your dreams.  The ones you want to happen.  The ones you really hold dear to your heart will unfold.  Give yourself time but know that your story is far from over.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

PRICELESS IS PEACE OF MIND

Good morning everyone.  Happy Tuesday.  There is a phrase that says "money makes the world go round."  Money is an absolute necessity in our lives.  We need it to pay rent, a mortgage, food and just about anything else you can think of.  The question is what is the amount needed to live?  Is there even an answer?

If anxiety is a daily part of your existence does it matter how much cash you have in your pocket?  If you live in the lap of luxury but are afraid to step out of your front door does it matter if you are a gold card member?

Today's quote is, "What affords you to live in the greatest comfort is not the money in your bank account but the peace in your mind."  Money can buy you a great meal in a four star Michelin restaurant but it can't buy you serenity.  We need money to live, there is no debating that but we need peace and calm in our lives to function.

Money is not evil and if you have lots of it
that's great but make sure you have an equal amount of tranquility and well being, the things that can never be purchased no matter how much money you have.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

YOUR PERFECT SELF

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday.  When was the last time you looked in the mirror?  There are those who can't pass one by without lovingly gazing into their own reflection while others find and scrutinize every imagined flaw.  The ones who ignore their perfect eyebrows and focus on a crooked tooth, an unwanted facial crease
or that one hair that won't stay put.

Why oh why do we do that?  Why do we find it so difficult to embrace every inch of ourselves?  I love fashion magazines but rather than hiring models who are 5'2", you will see a 5'8" woman wearing a size 2 dress.  Cindy Crawford famously said, "even I don't look like Cindy Crawford when I wake up."

How awesome is that?!  A cover girl admitting her humanity.  What a relief yet we still seem to find fault with ourselves when the truth is we are beautiful and perfect exactly as we are.

Today's quote is, "Gaze into your reflection - you will see how truly amazing you are - focus on that and not what you think is missing."   Look at yourself right now.  Your blue, brown or green eyes allow you to see a sunset, a sunrise and a cardinal out of your window.  Look at your smile.  It brings joy to those you love and can change the mood of a complete stranger.  Stop and think of how powerful that is!

You are beautiful and amazing.  You know what's missing?  Absolutely nothing!

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy
