Good morning everyone. Yesterday was the last Thursday of the month so today obviously is the last Friday and the beginning of a new month. Aww! A new beginning. Interesting that this new beginning is also an ending as this new month will soon give way to a new year. I promise not to perseverate on the topic of holiday gift giving and shopping and buying.
When that becomes a job along with everything else on your list, it is no longer fun to shop. What I will say is don't let yourself get crazy. Without knowing your bank account I would say we probably all have more than most. Why is it that the desire for more and more and more is so prevalent in our society?
Watching the Kardashians vacation yet again in Bali and any other local and searching for that perfect outfit in a closet the size of my kitchen makes us feel like we are missing out. That my friends is fantasy and let them live it out in peace. Today's quote is, "Enough is when your focus is joy for the abundance you've been blessed with without the desire for more and more and more." You know what really bothers me? What really bothers me is when someone cannot see what is right in front of them. When a complete lack of gratitude is overcome with a greedy wish for more.
There will always be someone with more than you. More money, a bigger car, a fancier house but will they make lasagna the way you do? Will they make their partner laugh like you do? Is the relationship they have with their children warm and loving or cold and distant? You can't put a price on any of those things. Of course we need money to live but at what point is it enough that you can focus on what is right in front of you.
Stop craning your neck to see who has more. You will only get a sore neck and miss all that is right there in front of your very eyes!
Have a wonderful Friday everyone! ~Love, Amy

Good morning everyone. It is the last Thursday in November. Yikes! The holiday season is clearly here and has been for some time now. Go with the flow and don't let it stress you out! If it does, you can always come to me for Reiki, Meditation or just send me an email if you need an ear. I will always listen!
It's so crazy that we let fun holidays get the better of us by allowing stress and anxiety to take over. We stress about what to cook, what gifts to buy, and how we are going to accomplish everything in time. My advice? Take it one day at a time. You know it will get done. It always does. There is no surprise in the calendar. It's pretty much the same every year. Big holidays are in December which comes after November and before January.
A particular source of stress with many people is what gift to give to a special someone or friend. I for one appreciate anything. That's because I love to get gifts. Who doesn't? That's the way we all need to think. If a gift is given with thought, it will be appreciated. Today's quote is, "Ideas will never expire - it is your tenacity to go through with them that does."
Am I talking about ideas for gift giving? A little bit. There are an endless array of gifts you can give to anyone from a child of three to an adult of 96. The real stress over ideas comes from ways to alter your life and see the changes you want to see. How do we make that happen? There are certainly more than one. Ideas are infinite. Our will sometimes is not. Ghandi said, "Be the Change you want to see in the World." Now seriously, do you think Ghandi came up with one idea when fighting for freedom and liberation?
I have some big balls today. I'm comparing us to Ghandi. No not really. But I bet I got your attention! Ideas are infinite. They are numerous. Rarely is there a single one for any situation. We are the problem. We get stuck and lose our drive. If you feel yourself beginning to sink, take a break. Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes you just need to recharge those old batteries and when you do the ideas will once again begin to flow.
Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! ~Love, Amy

Good morning everyone and a happy Wednesday to you all. I'm going to start the morning off with a question. When did you last show gratitude for a beautiful day? When was the last time you thanked your coffee for tasting so good and being so strong? Have you thanked your thermostat for regulating the temperature of your home so that when you wake up its nice and toasty?
I'm going to venture a guess and say you've not done any of it. Every day we go about our business wondering how we're going to get through it all. Hopefully those days are few and far between but when they do come up here is something you can do to lighten that load.
Give gratitude. That's right. Makes no difference if its directed to the car that didn't splash you this morning or for that promotion you just got. Gratitude can be expressed for anything. Today's quote is, "Gratitude is not over used - in fact it is not used nearly enough." The simple act of showing gratitude and whispering an internal thank you is in itself gratifying.
We don't do this enough. What we do more than anything is complain. That comes easily and naturally. Try your best to refrain and replace a complaint with a word of gratitude. When your mind says, "work sucks," say, "I am blessed to have a job that pays me." "If you ran out of milk, be grateful that the grocery store is a car ride away.
For me, I'm grateful to write this blog every day and that you all take the time to read it!
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

Good morning everyone. The clocks may have been set for that extra hour but it is still dark when I get up. I honestly didn't mind walking Mia in the dark but no one asked for my opinion regarding clocks and time change. It may be dark outside but you still turn on your light!
Today's quote is, "If the lights are off turn on your inner sparkle and shine." Don't use the darkness as an excuse to stay in the dark yourself. We all possess an inner light. We just don't always let it shine. We use the darkness as an excuse to hide from the world and from ourselves. Don't!
Expose yourself but leave your clothes on. Find the light within you that although may be a little dim just needs the switch turned up. It's easy to forget how magnificent and capable we all are. Sometimes it could be one thing that gets us in a slump we can't crawl out of.
Don't let the darkness steal your inner shine. We all have difficult days and rough patches to muddle through but we are so much stronger than they are. If the darkness creeps in know that it is only temporary. Turn on your inner light. It's time to sparkle and shine!
Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! ~Love, Amy

Good morning all. Thanksgiving and the long weekend has come to an end. A perfect warm up for the holiday season that we can officially say is upon us. Everyone has started their holiday advertising from Starbucks to Target. Buy, buy and buy some more is what the TV tells you to do but you do what you feel and don't let commercialism pressure you.
Why do we let the holiday season make us crazy? It isn't worth it. We are so busy buying and spending that we forget to enjoy the holidays for what they are which is time for friends, family and you. We can get so much done if we don't let ourselves become frantic over gift giving.
Just think of this as one more chore to add to the list. I know you can all do this. Today's quote is, "Do you realize all that can be accomplished when you acknowledge your own strength and power." Although my focus has been on gift buying, this quote is about the inner strength and power we all possess. The power to do all that we need to and more.
We let ourselves get so overwhelmed when we should be enjoying the merriment around us. Take a deep breath and know that it will all get done because you are capable of running a household, having a career and being a caretaker. So what if you have to buy a few gifts. Shop online or at a store or get a gift certificate for a Reiki session!
Don't let these things bring you down and stress you out! Tap into your inner Superman and get the job done. With power like that no one can stop you!

Good morning everyone. Still stuffed from yesterday's excess? Can you imagine dining on a meal like Thanksgiving every day? Even though I was full I kept going back for more because it was so delicious. While my eating was totally out of control fresh air and a long walk is the perfect remedy to get me back on track.
This is not just a recommendation for me but for all of you who overindulged which would probably be everyone reading this. My hope is that you all had a wonderful day with your company and that you enjoyed every bite of food. One thing I want to tell you is not to feel the least bit guilty. Many of you out there are devoted shake drinkers, cheese abstainers and gluten free devotees feeling as though they committed a horrible crime.
When you woke up this morning did you look like a Macy's Day balloon? Of course you didn't. It's OK to enthusiactically enjoy a celebration because as Scarlett O'Hara said, "tomorrow is another day." Today's quote is, "Sometimes you need to lose control to get it back." Can we agree that losing control over our eating is something we may all have in common?
If I were to venture a guess I would say that's true. Even those who swear by their kale and protein powder fall off the wagon every once in a while but in order to get back on we need to know what falling off feels like. How do we even know what control is if we never lose it.
Is there anyone out there who has never argued with their spouse? Your laughter is audible through the computer! I had a friend whose husband divorced her afte two children and several years of marriage. I will never forget when with a puzzled look on her face she said to me, "You and your husband fight and we never fought."
If you can honestly say you agree with everything your spouse says then I can honestly say I don't believe you. You are two separate people with separate thoughts and ideas, not clones of one another. So what if you argue or have a disagreement. So what if that argument is out of control. It clears the air so you can find understanding with one another and move on.
Eat that dessert, roll your eyes, buy those shoes so that next time you can replace cake with an apple, an eye roll with a smile and pay off that credit card. Now go and take that walk!

Have a wonderful Friday everyone! ~Love, Amy

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving! For all of you who did lots of cooking over these past few days, please take some time to relax and enjoy your hard work. That includes me too! My children are back and ravenous as ever. Good thing I like my kitchen! I love Thanksgiving and all holidays that involve nothing but the people you love and good food. Of course we all tend to eat way too much but we can rationalize that turkey day (sorry all you vegans) is but once a year.
I've heard that there can be too much of a good thing but I don't believe it. Let's take this holiday for example. Too much what? Too much sparkling wine? Too many appetizers? Too much apple pie? Too much love to go around? How could there be too much of any of that? Never enough is what I say!
Today's quote is, "Live to excess in happiness joy and whatever it is that brings you to the life you envision for yourself." What's wrong with that. Nothing. The flip side of happiness and joy is misery and sadness. Is that what you think you deserve? I don't think anyone deserves that. A positive person would foresee their future as filled with all the love, joy, happiness and success they can muster. It is the inner Eyore that says we don't. My advice is to stop listening to him.
Don't be Eyeore today or ever. Put yourself in a positive mindset and know that overindulging in all the fun, joy, love and success that life has to offer is well deserved, warranted and essential. Now go ahead and eat that second piece of apple pie.
Have a wonderful Thursday everyone and a very Happy Thanksgiving! ~Love, Amy
