Good morning everyone and happy Thursday. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all say exactly what's on our minds? Hmmm. Let's think about that for a minute. My favorite TV show of all time is I Love Lucy. In one particular episode Lucy's friends made a bet that she couldn't tell the truth for 24 hours. Undaunted she proceeded to do exactly that. TELL THE TRUTH. She told her friend that her Asian inspired décor looked like a nightmare you would have after eating too much Chinese food. Needless to say it didn't go over very well.
Hence the creation of the white lie which serves to protect the feelings of those we love and care about. This is where you get a pass to lie.
The lies that shouldn't be told are the ones we tell ourselves. We've become very good at lying to ourselves. We convince ourselves that we are happy when we are not, satisfied when that is far from the truth and that we really don't care, (the biggest lie of all!). The real truth is that we are not always happy, satisfied and YES! We do care. A LOT!
Today's quote is, "Empowerment comes from speaking our truth." Deep down we all know what we want out of this journey. We want to be happy and fulfilled but if we continue telling ourselves lies we will be neither happy nor fulfilled. Stop pretending that everything is just fine and allow yourself to know there is more for you. And that my friends is the honest truth!
