There are times in our lives when we all are faced with difficult decisions and hard choices. One of those decisions should be easy. Decide to say something nice about yourself. Admire your outfit. Compliment your smile. I could feel all of you cringing because that's not what we do. We tell ourselves we look fat. We look for something to be wrong rather than right.
Today's quote is, "End the civil war within yourself - let the side that puts you down unite with the side that gives you praise and let that side be the one who wins." We are veterans in our own war. The one where we find it almost impossible to shower ourselves with praise and if we do it usually comes with a side of self-deprecation. Guilty!
I find it very difficult to both accept praise. If you are not one of those people then congratulations and I mean that sincerely. We work hard to be the best we can yet it is often our own selves that ruin it by putting ourselves down. If you have accomplished something you are proud of it should be acknowledged and applauded!
Don't fight with yourself when you have achieved something even if that something is having your hair come out just the way you like it. Any and every event carries significance if you can attach a feeling to it. When you feel that inner Eyeore begin to emerge, stop him dead in his tracks.
Stop looking for what's wrong and see clearly all that is right. No one should like a good fight. Even that sentence is an oxymoron as there is no such thing. Don't go to war with yourself. Find that white flag and raise it high in the air. It is finally time for a truce!
